A Warm Welcome
Hello and welcome to our Dillard Center for the Arts website. Dillard, is a Performing Arts magnet program, located in Broward County, Florida. Entry into the performing arts program is by audition only. The music program is designed to give students a variety of instructional and performance opportunities. Individual vocal instruction, ensemble participation and many different performance settings are offered to increase the students’ technical proficiency in both lower and upper level study. Upper level study in Advanced Placement Music Theory provides an opportunity for students to secure college credit while in high school. Course work in theory and music history combined with technical instruction provides an excellent instructional setting for musical and experience.
The vocal department is under the direction of Sophia Beharrie. Ms. Beharrie has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in music education from Florida State University.
